These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Pursuita. By accessing or using Pursuita, you agree to these Terms.
Pursuita is provided by Dr Melanie Tarr [trading as Pursuita — ABN to be inserted once issued] ("Pursuita," "we," "us," "our").
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create a Pursuita account. By using Pursuita, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
2. The Service
Pursuita is a tool that helps educators, trainers, and university students generate presentation materials, including outlines, visuals, and Google Slides presentations.
You agree to use Pursuita for lawful and appropriate purposes only.
3. Google Account Integration
Pursuita integrates with Google services, including Google Sign-In, Google Drive, and Google Slides. By signing in with Google, you grant Pursuita permission to:Authenticate your identity via your Google account
Create and manage presentation files on your behalf in your Google Drive
Save generated materials to your Google DrivePursuita only accesses files it creates or that you explicitly authorise it to use. Your use of Google services is also governed by Google's own terms.
4. AI-Generated Content
Pursuita uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI's API) to generate presentation content based on the prompts you provide. By submitting prompts, you acknowledge:AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate material
You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any content before using it
You should not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional, legal, medical, or other expert advice
AI-generated outputs are not guaranteed to be original or free from third-party rights; you are responsible for ensuring your use of generated content complies with applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Pursuita to:Generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or harmful to minors
Violate the intellectual property rights of any third party
Engage in academic dishonesty in any context where the use of AI-generated content is prohibited or requires disclosure
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of Pursuita
Interfere with or disrupt the service, including by attempting to overload servers or bypass rate limits
Use the service to develop a competing product
Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the service except where expressly permittedYou are responsible for ensuring your use of Pursuita complies with applicable laws and any policies of the institution or organisation you are affiliated with.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
6. Intellectual Property
Pursuita's intellectual property. The Pursuita name, logo, software, design, and underlying technology are owned by Pursuita and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use Pursuita's intellectual property except as necessary to use the service.
Your content. You retain all rights to the prompts you submit and the presentation files Pursuita generates for you. Pursuita does not claim ownership of your content. By submitting prompts, you grant Pursuita a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your inputs for the sole purpose of providing the service to you.
7. Service Availability and Changes
Pursuita is provided "as is" and "as available." We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee:Uninterrupted availability
Error-free operation
That defects will be corrected
That the service will meet your specific requirementsWe may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, with or without notice.
8. Account Termination
You may stop using Pursuita and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, or for legal, technical, or operational reasons.
On termination, your access to Pursuita will end. Files saved to your Google Drive remain in your Google Drive under your control.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pursuita and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, loss of business, or interruption to service, arising from your use of Pursuita.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to Pursuita is limited to the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim, or AUD $100, whichever is greater.
10. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for breach of any non-excludable consumer guarantee is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having the service re-supplied.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pursuita and its operators from any claim, loss, or damage (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Privacy
Your use of Pursuita is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. Continued use of Pursuita after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia for any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Pursuita.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pursuita regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements.

Privacy Policy

Pursuita is designed to help educators, trainers, and university students generate presentation slides. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
This policy is provided by Dr Melanie Tarr [trading as Pursuita — ABN to be inserted once issued] ("Pursuita," "we," "us," "our").
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google Sign-In, we receive your email address, name, and profile picture as provided by Google.
User-generated content. When you use Pursuita, we process the topics, prompts, and instructions you provide, and we save the presentation files generated for you directly to your own Google Drive.
Technical information. We collect minimal technical information necessary for the app to function, including session identifiers for authentication. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:Authenticate you and maintain your session
Generate presentation content based on your prompts
Save the resulting files to your Google Drive
Communicate with you about your account or service updates
Maintain the security and reliability of the service3. AI Processing
Pursuita's core functionality is powered by OpenAI. When you submit a topic or prompt, that text is sent to OpenAI's API to generate the structured outline, visuals, and slide content returned to you.
Per OpenAI's API data usage policies, inputs and outputs submitted via the API are not used to train OpenAI's models. We do not retain a separate copy of your prompts on Pursuita's servers beyond what is needed to deliver the response.
4. User-Generated Content
Slides generated through Pursuita are saved directly to your Google Drive under your account. You own these files. Pursuita does not retain copies of your generated slides on its own servers.
You can delete generated content at any time directly from your Google Drive.
5. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your account information within 30 days. Authentication tokens are deleted when you sign out or revoke access via your Google Account settings.
6. Third-Party Services
Pursuita uses the following third-party services:Google Sign-In — for authentication
Google Drive and Google Slides APIs — to create and store your slide files
OpenAI — to generate slide content
Amazon Web Services (AWS Lambda) — to host and run the applicationEach provider has its own privacy practices. You should review their policies if you have concerns about their handling of data.
7. Data Access and Use of Google APIs
Pursuita uses Google APIs (Google Drive and Google Slides) to create and manage presentation files on behalf of the user. We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:We only access user data necessary to perform the actions you initiate
We do not store, transfer, or use Google user data for any purpose unrelated to the core functionality of the application
We do not use Google user data for advertising, marketing, or resale
We do not allow humans to read Google user data, unless we have your explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or for our internal operations after the data has been aggregated and anonymised
All data access is initiated by you and requires your explicit consent via Google OAuth8. International Data Transfers
Pursuita is operated from Australia. Some of our service providers process data outside Australia: Google and OpenAI process data in the United States. AWS Lambda processes data in the AWS region in which our application is deployed (Asia Pacific (Sydney), ap-southeast-2). By using Pursuita, you consent to your data being transferred and processed outside Australia where applicable. We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes use of HTTPS for all data in transit, OAuth-based authentication (we never see or store your Google password), and limited internal access to systems.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
10. Age Requirements
Pursuita is intended for use by adults, educators, trainers, and university students aged 16 and over. Pursuita is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a person under 16 has created an account, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete the account and associated information.
11. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to:Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete
Delete your account and associated personal information
Withdraw consent for our processing at any time (by revoking access in your Google Account settings or by contacting us)
Make a complaint if you believe we have mishandled your informationTo exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by phone on 1300 363 992.
12. Cookies and Local Storage
Pursuita uses essential cookies and local browser storage for authentication and to maintain your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app before the change takes effect.
